Our Learning Environment

Every day at Montessori Manor, our educators create an engaging, safe, clean and challenging environment for our students. Specialized learning materials are changed often, continually providing variety of learning experiences. Our students achieve a real and profound understanding of their work, becoming harmonious in movement, independent in work and honest and helpful with one another.

Preschool and Kindergarten Curriculum

The curriculum is based on the philosophies and methods of Dr. Maria Montessori. In the Montessori environment, the children learn through practical experiences and self-discovery within a carefully prepared, child-oriented environment.

During each sensitive period, or period of intense fascination for learning a particular skill, we provide learning materials geared to the developmental needs of that phase of growth.

By experiencing these activities at their own pace, a child acquires many skills such as concentration, coordination, responsibility and independence. When engaging in well-structured tasks, children develop a deep inner satisfaction which builds their self-confidence and positive attitude toward school.

Exploring The Outdoors

Nature Play Activities

One of the central philosophies of the Montessori Method is the connection with the natural world. Dr. Maria Montessori felt that the outdoor environment should be an extension of the classroom. She placed a great emphasis on nature and nature education.

At Montessori Manor, our students are often outdoors, able to experience nature with structure and purpose.
